The blog that never wanted to go up. Daggers?
This quote has so much meaning to it. This quote “Come, you spirits. That tend on mortal thoughts! unsex me here, And fill me from the crown to the toe top full Of direst cruelty; make thick my blood …” “There’s daggers in men’s smiles …” is from lady Macbeth. In this quote she means She wants the strength or the will power to do the murding. Like she is calling for her spirits to give her strength to be more like a man. So she can do terrible things which she don’t have in her but I feel like every person has the will to do anything. I feel like if she was motivated enough she could defiantly do it. When she says she wants to be so called “ unsex” she wants really man characteristics. Like the violence and hatred and unfeeling of a woman. Like now a days in the 21st century, I feel like it has gone down alil bit. We have gotten better as an society about that type of stuff. It was like the whole women movement really impacted our society so things like this couldn’t happen. She doesnt want that feeling of being judge because she is a woman. In some cases it has happen for like when Mrs. Clinton ran for president people were saying we could never have a woman president, I rather die than have that happen. She actually ran up against Obama who won it all. But she put up a fight to win. I don’t really know if there are daggers in men’s smiles because I am a man. I would hope not. But the other gender has probable cause to think otherwise. I would really love to hear the female’s point of view on this. So I can see both sides of the story and come to a middle ground with this statement. But it might be right because I know some dudes who are ruthless and could care less about anything. So I would really love to discuss this in class to see where people’s opinion falls where.
